The Stockbridge Colonies were built between 1861 and 1911 on a piece of terrain formerly known as the Whins and are sometimes known as Glenogle Park. The development was the first project of the Edinburgh Cooperative Building Company, who went on to build many properties across Edinburgh. The colonies incorporate Glenogle House.
