Designed by W Hamilton Beattie (who also designed nearby Jenner's Department Store), the Balmoral Hotel was formerly known as the North British Hotel. The Balmoral Hotel has 180 rooms, and is closely associated with Waverley Station. The massive clock tower is always set two minutes early, to encourage travellers to hurry for their trains.
