# Bell’s Brae Bridge
The crossed ‘peels’ are found on a plaque on Bell’s Brae Bridge. A tool used by the Baxters or Bakers whose mills clustered together here in the Village of the Water of Leith, a peel was a long paddle like implement used to take hot loaves out of the oven.
