The main railway station in Edinburgh, Waverley Station nestles in what has become known as the Waverley Valley. It was renamed in 1854 after the first novel of Sir Walter Scott. Prior to this date the main part of the station was known as the General Station. but the new Waverley Station incorporated North Bridge Station and Canal Street Station.
