Leith Library was built along with the Town Hall on the site of the old North Leith Manse between 1929 and 1932, to a design by Bradshaw, Gass and Hope of Bolton. It was severely damaged in 1941 by bombing, and was not reopened until 1961. The library is now a bustling centre for the community, with popular children’s activities and other events.
