This memorial frieze remembers David Dickson, who was minister of St Cuthbert's Church. He died in 1842, and this frieze was erected soon afterwards on the west side of the church, designed by A Handyside Ritchie. David Dickson was the minister for nearly 40 years, assuming the post in 1803 at the age of 23.
