Dalmeny Street links Leith Walk and Easter Road about half way down their lengths.
It probably derives its name from proximity to lands owned by the owners of the Dalmeny estate in Dalmeny, which is some miles away to the north east. In turn, the name of the village of Dalmeny is of Gaelic origin, from Dail Mheinnidh or Dail M'Eithne, a reference to St Eithne, to whom the parish church is dedicated.
