Under what OFCOM calls an Administered Incentive Plan, costs for radio spectra communication will soon rise for marine and aeronautical users, which includes the Scottish Mountain Rescue Service and the RNLI. The full consultation document can be found here.
The RNLI will see their costs for radio licenses increase by nearly £100,000, even with a proposed 50% reduction for charities.
These charities fear that the increased charges could spell disaster for their vital services.
Read the News Links below for more information, but act fast, the consultation closes on 30 October 2008.
There is a form letter to send to OFCOM here. You need to include a consultation coversheet to ensure your protest is correctly processed. You can find full details on how to submit your opinion here.
